about me

Welcome to my website. I’m a regular dad with a big camera, i’m sure you’ve seen quite a few of these guys (chances are, if you’re here, you might be one of them yourself..:)).

This website aims to share the photography knowledge i have acquired during the last few years, along with some of the photographs i have enjoyed making, as well as learn new skills and interact with other photography hobbyists and professionals all over the world.

My interest in photography started when my oldest daugther was 3. A friend brought over a Minolta Maxxum 5D, 6MP DSLR with a 50mm prime, which he received from his father, and both of us had absolutely no idea what to do with it, and we thought it was broken because it did not show a live view on the back screen…

A few snaps of Liya later i was hooked, the pictures were like nothing i had seen before and the feel of the whole contraption was intriguing, being the gear head that i am…

I went ahead and did my research, and before long i got a Canon 550D (Rebel T3i) with a 50mm f1.8 prime and a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 zoom, and that was my starter kit. I still believe this is the perfect set to start off any newbie and i recommend it.

Four years later and a closet full of Nikon, Canon, Olympus and Kiev (yes, that russian, klunky, Hassy look-alike which i adore) photo gear, it appears i have a hobby that i love and everybody around me enjoys (or at least so they tell me to my face..:)) and that is here to stay.

Now I consider myself to be passed GAS (what is know in the DSLR hobbyist world as “gear acquiring syndrome”) and ready to share my wonderful experiences with you.

Check back regularly for gear reviews and photography skill related articles, as i will be sharing them when i have the time, between my day job and my wonderful family.

Enjoy your read and thank you for looking.
